I gave one star only because it will not allow zero stars. We ordered a large cheese pizza through Anthony’s Pizza online website. It was handed over to a third party called Chow Now. Then handed over to Door Dash. The mark up went from an $18 pizza to $39.87. The pizza arrived cold. I am not talking warm and not hot and fresh. I am talking cold, like when a pizza has been served the next day or has sat out for hours on a counter. The cheese was gritty and rubbery not stringy. It arrived late. I called Anthony’s back and was told their third party is the one who is held responsible and was told to call Chow Now. I called them and was placed on hold for over 15 minutes while they called Door Dash and tried to pawn it off on them. I was told Door Dash refused to refund my money. I called Door Dash directly and was placed on hold 15 minutes. They patched me back through to Anthony’s Pizza who said they will give a partial refund of $5.00. Are you kidding me? I was told I can drive the pizza back to them after wasting over an hour waiting for a pizza that was late. The wasting over an hour on the phone with them. I now can be inconvenienced even more to drive in a hot car, waste my gas money and my time to bring them the cold pizza to get my $39.87 back. Unbelievable. No one is held accountable once you place an order online. Neither of the three entities that mark up your order. It is outrageous to charge $40 for a cheese pizza! I was told that had I called on the phone they would have sent their driver to deliver the pizza. That is the only way they can guarantee it gets to me hot. If that is the case they should not offer to deliver food online at all! They have lost five adult costumers who order pizza in my family over their refusal to compensate me for their inability to deliver a hot pizza. I hope it was worth it. I use to recommend Anthony’s Pizza … never again!
