Capitol Adjustment approach me when there was a fire next to my house, they said they will repair and help me get the money from my home insurance for repairs and that they would collect 20% and the 80% was for me, they did not repair and did not send me any money, I have proof of the checks that were sent to them and I also made a police report, hoping you can help me resolve this issue this has caused a lot of heartaches and health issues do to the repairs not done that were supposed to be done by them and the theft they did to me tricking me into trusting them.

This was a smoke loss.  When the insurance company came out to inspect the loss, I was there, the insured Ms. ***** was there, the insurance adjuster was there and the restoration company Ms. ***** hired (Disaster Relief) was there.  A full cleaning of the property was agreed to.  Ms. ***** elected to have Disaster Relief perform the work in her property.  Disaster Relief billed the insurance company.  If you look at the carrier's report, it matches their bills to the *****.  We secured our 20% adjustment fee and the balance was paid to Disaster Relief.  There is also a signed certificate of compilation.  Ms. ***** expects free work and to be able to keep the insurance proceeds.  This is not how losses are handled.  Ms. ***** hired a contractor, the contractor completed the work needed and the contractor was paid from the insurance company for their work.

Had a fire on a commercial property we own, contacted capitol adjustment to process the claim. I told the adjuster we had our own contractor we did not need anything done from them other than taking care of the claim. They sent a check to the wrong address for $8,804.08, when I requested the check to be re-issued they paid a ghost company located in the same location as their office the new check was missing ($2900). They do not answer the phone or return emails.

I am in receipt of the BBB complaint ID ********. In reviewing the
subject of the complaint, it seems that the customers discrepancy is with the *** funds being included
    in the building estimate.

The settlement was initially disbursed incorrectly, as we did not realize that the carrier included the ***
invoices in the building check. It is not labeled well in the carrier estimate but then you do the math, it
    makes sense.
If you review the carrier-building estimate it would result in a payment of $7,405.42 yet the check value
is $10,357.74. This $2,952.32 difference matches The Right Guy ************* invoices for work
performed. We secured our 15% contingency fee, paid The Right Guy ************ for their 2 invoices
included in the building check and paid the balance to the client.

When it comes to the customers allegation that no work was performed, I included The Right Guy
************* signed contract, payment authorization, invoices and pictures of work product. There was
work performed at the property. The work was paid for by the insurance company and included in the
    building check.

Lastly, the customer alleges that The Right Guy ************ is in the same building as Capitol
Adjustment. That is true. If you review page 3 of our contract, it discloses our affiliation.

This is the third claim we have represented this insured on and have not had an issue before this. I
believe the crux of the issue is that the carrier did not break out the *** payment in a separate check as
is usually done. If that was done, it would be the same net payment to the client but it would make
more sense to him. My adjuster *************************** has been in contact with the insured as well in the
recent week attempting to explain this to him. As always, please let me know if anything additional is
    needed.

    Thank You,
    *************************
