May 7, ****************************** that day for $398.97 with check #*** Committed to installing a new chair high toilet that I purchased at Lowes. After a few months when I would sit on toilet it would rock front to back and side to side. Then I noticed two large washers come out from under the back of the base of the toilet. So I knew at that point it had been shimmed up.I have called and left at least three messages. He called and left message with me and stated that it was funny it took that long to start to rock. In reality it is not used everyday since it is in master bedroom so it does make sense that it didn't happen sooner. He said he could take a look at it but was very busy. He also said if I wanted to have someone other than him to look at it that would be ok. Only thing is I already paid over what was quoted to have it done and I think it should have been done right. When I had a neighborhood handyman here doing some projects, I asked him to look at the toilet situation without mentioning who had installed it and told him the problem. He said the wax ring that was put on must have been too high and said that the washers that were on floor were there for the reason I thought. I asked how much he would charge to fix it and he said $175. I sent ********** Plumbing and Heating a letter stating if he would refund me $175 I would have this man fix the toilet for me. I even called and left another message asking to get back to me but has been over two weeks and no phone call.

First of all it was not called a handicap toilet but a chair high toilet.    And yes
the floor was concrete as in most condos if there is no basement.  Mr. *** It, ***, did some prep with that before reinstalling.

The photos I took shows that Mr. ********** did not install a wax gasket as he
stated.  Mr. ********** also said he had to install a longer supply tube for the water but in the photo I took it looks like the new one had to be bent in a curve
so it would fit onto the tank.  And as far as the shims, they were two washers.

If I was being a mean person about all this I would have asked for more money back.  I am going to ask for the difference between the $250 and the $398 to help pay for the reinstall.  That would mean refunding me $148. In
my heart, I really feel I should have more refunded since the job was poorly
done and the toilet could not be used. (What did I pay for?)

And the remark about a Licensed Plumber knowing more than a handiman
may be true in some areas but if my husband would have been alive, I
would not have needed anyone since he would have done it himself and
he was not a licensed plumber,

    Thank you,
    ****** M. ******

I am rejecting this response because: My toilet was rocking back and forth and side to side, I don't know of any client that would accept an installation like that.  At this point I don't  believe the BBB is really going to be able to help me.  This so called licensed plumber, as he likes to keep pointing out, showed up that day in an old maroon car and no truck and so had nothing he needed with him.  I don't know of any plumber we have used in our 61 years of marriage that would not have made this right.  People like this always seem to come out on top.
