      On 12/8/22, ********************************* (**) was scheduled for a service call at my home. My husband reached out to him because we were having issues with the 3 toilets in our house. Prior to the visit, ** asked about the issues we were having (constant running) as well as the type of toilet(s) we had (Sterling). ** arrived an hour late and made no effort whatsoever to exam our toilets. He spent more time commenting on my husband's car than troubleshooting our issue. Instead, ** stated there was nothing he could do because Sterling toilets were no longer made and replacement parts weren't available; our only option was to install new units. My husband explained we rented and needed something in writing for the landlord.After his "declaration", ** stood in our doorway refusing to leave until he received a ***** payment. We were frustrated and confused - ** knew the issue and the type of toilets in our home in advance; why bother to come out if there was nothing he felt he could do to repair or address our issue? I was also angry. ** merely lifted the top on the toilet to show the tanks' interior to his apprentice but did nothing at all to determine the root cause of the running...didn't bother to see if it was something fixable. His entire visit lasted about 10 minutes. **'s refusal to leave our home, standing in the doorway until he received my ***** payment, in my opinion, felt akin to bullying. We felt we had no choice but to pay so ** would leave.We did share **'s quote with our landlord, who sent someone else out to assess/give a second opinion. They were able to determine the reason for our problem and repair all three toilets WITHOUT replacing a single unit.**'s actions as described above led me to believe he was uninterested in a "simple" repair job; he wanted a way to get more money from us. I contacted him to let him know we went with someone else and I was upset about his visit. He took no accountability and offered no apology or refund.
