we were set to close on a property home sale 8/15. we were not informed until 8/11 that there was an in**rrect vin number and we **uld not close. at this time we already had utilities scheduled off and movers **ming. we were moving out of state. we purchased this home 5 years ago and first credit did the title work and Cloverleaf communities did the closing, at that time they did not identity a problem, 8/12 we were told we needed to pay $250 to retain a title ** to **rrect the title. this will take a few weeks we are told. we are upset because this search was done 5 years ago when we purchased and these are the same two **mpanies! we had to **ntinue to pay a flat water fee rate, lot rent, grass cutting, mortgage and homeowners on this property until closing happened on 10/8. not to mention the mental stress of moving to ******* with this house not closed, not being paid. I had to make the follow up calls and eventually got the **rrected title. told we closed 10/8 and buyer was given property keys. we still did not have our mortgage paid and did not receive funds until 10/15. the buyer should not have been given access to the property with out us being paid. I feel the agent was negligent in handling things in a timely matter which **st us money daily! at the very least we should be refunded the $250 title seash monies and lot rent on the property. we weren't living there and it was not our fault that Cloverleaf never had **rrect title work done.

      Business Response

      Date: 10/23/2024

This manufactured home was titled incorrectly in 1986 by either the state of ************ or the manufacturer of the home.  This home has been sold numerous times since 1986, and has never been owned by Cloverleaf Communities.   The buyers financial institution required an appraisal.  During the appraisal, this defect was discovered by the appraiser.  The financial institution would not move forward with the closing, without this defect corrected.  Due to extended time to have this fixed, a new agreement was signed by both parties on 8/12 to close on or before 10/17.  There was nothing Cloverleaf could do to expediate the situation.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I have attached closing paperwork from 5 years ago . Cloverleaf was the listing land closing agent . Paperwork states title work done by first credit . Obviously this was not correct then access discovered when buyer tried to obtain financing . Cloverleaf put the brunt of financial responsibility on us . This whole circumstance was out of our control . We paid for title correction and cloverleaf continued to charge us lot rent although we had left the state . At the very least I should not have paid for the tirle  correction that in cloverleafs words existed since1986!
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]
