    I was a tenant for a couple of years which I lived at the address with my husband until he passed away. When he passed away I paid the rent on time. After my husbands passing I couldnt get the water issue that I was having in the basement resolved by the owner because he didnt want to put the money out to get it fixed. I believe he took advantage of me because I was alone in the house. After I told them who I work for they sent a plumber but my basement door remained rotted at the bottom which caused the problem. I protected the heater and the water heater from getting destroyed. I left the property because of it I had 17 (5buckets) of water that i had to get out the basement each time. I left the home in great condition even painted it. The owner kept my $2,000 and said I owe him over $900 said it was filthy which is not true(I have pics)and door k**** were bent . He put me in collections when he owe me money

    Dear BBB: 

    Unfortunately, the customer is not always right.  Attached please find our final accounting for ******************' rental account with ********************.  Her security deposit was $1,998.  She owed a small water bill of $47.01, but the house was left in substantial disrepair.  As a result, ***************** was charged $2,924 in tenant caused damages.   (Please see page 2 of the attachment which has a line item for each damage charge.  We have photos to support each and every line item.  The number of photos is great to attach.)  This resulted in a balance due to Optivest of $973.01.  ****************** failed to pay her $973.01 balance (or make payment arrangements with us) - so we placed the account for collections.  Please have her contact us if she would like to discuss a settlement.  Since move out, to the best of my knowledge, she never contacted our office.
