July 22nd I purchased a 2017 Kia **** from the Spitzer Autoworld used cars lot. The sales man had assured me there was no problems with the vehicle. I had driven the car for almost 45 days precisely. September 4th, The oil pistons blew up as I was driving. Oil had gone all over the underneath of my vehicle. The oil was then ignited by the engine and had caught the under carriage of my vehicle on fire. My pedals for gas and breaking had started to give out. I saw the smoke and instantly started to feel the heat rising. I hurriedly pulled off and got out. I called the insurance and had it towed. The fire had gone out on its own after burning up the oil. My insurance claims the fire damage was not severe enough for them to cover the car. Well i then learned the car had an outstanding recall which was closed last year. After calling *** to file a claim I indeed found the recall was the reason my engine failed whilst I was driving it at 30 mph. *** also informed me that spitzer should have never sold me the car with the recall being out of date.

Attached you will find a copy of the recall disclosure, that we are required to produce for all brands we are not the franchise dealer. Also, our text messages explaining to take it to a *** dealer and let us know what the repairs estimate would be and that we ( if *** didn't cover the repairs )  we would be willing to help, something we are still willing to do.

    Thank you

    Business Response

    Date: 08/16/2024

The customer wrote a check to pay for the vehicle. The check came back as non sufficient funds. He could not come up with the money to cover the check he wrote. He tried to get financing and could not. We had him bring the vehicle back to us since he could not pay for it.
