      We purchased a franchise from ***************, a franchise sales company in Feb 2023. We were later told by Voodoo they were going to refund our money in may of 2023 because there system violates the Alabama tier system. Two weeks later, after hiring **** *********, an Alabama *** attorney, we were told all had been taken care of an to go ahead and sign our lease and start construction so we did. In December 2023 we received a call from the Alabama *** board stating the issue had not been resolved and we would not be issued a license due to the same tier violations discussed in May. We asked for our money back and all we spent on Voodoo related items totaling $125,000. We were then told we had a financial obligation to Voodoo from the *** **** ****. We were pressed to proceed with the *** attorney as he negotiated with the *** board. In Feburary, we hired a franchise attorney to help us negotiate a deal which they refused to do. We finally decided to go out on our own in May after the *** board called us to say they would not issue us a license and that our only option was to go independent. We have now lost over $400,000 due to this fraudulent company. We entered into mediation with them in hopes of settling however they cancelled that. There has been delay after delay to break us and they have. We are asking for help to recover some of our losses We feel Raintree and Voodoo Brewing Company committed fraud selling a product in the state knowing we would not be able to open and we should be refunded our initial investment of $85,000 and current losses totaling over $325,000.
