Built my home in 2015. It’s now 2023 & shingles are blowing off my roof. We had a roofer come out & told us they were laid incorrectly. We’ve been in this house less than 10 years & the roof was suppose to be warrantied for 30. Blacks Homes Sales, won’t return our calls. They told us to contact the manufacture & the manufacture told us to contact Blacks Homes Sales. Several shingles have blown off & winter is coming. Who’s suppose to takes responsibility?

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

      Regards,

******* ********ny communication to the lot at Osceola Mills. Our construction crews (we went with our own bids) were told March 2023, so we wouldn't be ready to start it yet. Once that date rolled around, foundation was completed as the weather would allow, and the house was delivered and sat on the foundation with out anyone communicating this to us.
From here on out, we haven't had consistent conversations with any one. Never had a phone number to call nor anyone person to be in contact with. Our home went days/weeks with no one touching it. At one point, our excavation crew reached out to me as they weren't hearing back from anyone at Blacks for them to finish their piece. Which I had to be the middle man once again it felt like.
We just recently had our first walk through, 4 weeks ago... and still no work has been done. all cosmetic. some factory. and no contact on certain things, and no communication clearly on any of it between the company. We are paying our 3rd mortgage payment this month.

      To
      whom it may concern:

This letter is in regard to BBB
********* The home was set on 4/12/2023.
A Temporary occupancy inspection was completed on Monday 6/26/23.  The Hud certificate was forwarded to the
      inspection agency on 6/27/23.  The
remaining items that need to be completed for the final occupancy are as
      follows;

      1) Installation of the crawlspace access door. The customer is supplying the door.  Black’s will install it as a courtesy even though it was not in our scope of work.
      2) Roll-on pockets need to be filled in.  The customer’s block layer did not account for reinstalling the blocks.  Black’s will install them as a courtesy even though it was not in our scope of work.
      3) Oil tank needs to be installed.  The customer is responsible for providing and installing the oil tank.

      Once
the above items are completed a final occupancy can be issued. Blacks has been
in contact with the customer regarding all three of the above issues. The only
other outstanding items are on Black’s Home Sales and Factory service lists. Black’s
service tech was at the site 6/23/23, 6/26/23, 6/27/23 to address Black’s Home
Sales items. Factory service has been turned into Colony Homes service
department.  Black’s Home Sales does not
      control the factory service schedule.

The following information is sent to our customers in our
construction letter before the day of set to clarify whom to communicate with throughout
      the process.

      "Once the
walkthrough has occurred, your contact for service issues with the house is our
Service Coordinator, Graham S****.  His office number is ***** ********
