    Contacted K.D. Landis because was having an issue with my ac not cooling. Contacted them because my compressor was purchased through them and (supposedly) was under warranty. On July 8th a tech came out and I told him the fan in back not moving. He inspected and advsd compressor was down. He was here about 30 min; Im chrdg 155.75. Carol L***** and she advisd me that 89.00 an hour flat rate! On Jly 11, he came/ with trainee with generator the bill says 3 hour 75 min to put in compress... he was he 2.5 hr. Im charged 333.75 for tech and for the shadowing trainee (who just watched) im charged $50 an hour 187.50. So called on jly 13th bcse air still not working. Told me the capacitor was down and he was here 40 min tops. but Im billed 111.25 for tech; trainee 62.50 (again just observing). When called for clarification on bill...Carol advised that im being charged from time tech leaves K.D. Landis until they get to my house and then for the time spent for service. and time it takes them to return to the comp. She says im charged for their travel 30 min up and 30 min back to the comp. I advised her that I was not aware that I would be paying for 2 people...one who is just training. In addition, I was not aware that u had to pay for travel. I'ved called around and no other comp charges the customer for the techs travel to and from the customers residence. My total bill was 850.75. It seems to me like they are trying to recoup money for the condensor that was under warranty. Im disputing the cost associated with the 1 hour of travel for each visit. Im also disputing paying for the trainee. This is unfair and this is not the way to do business with customers. When I expressed this to Carol and she says "Im not going to keep going back and forth with you about this".

    We feel the charges for the work done for this customer were fair and consistent with our charges for other customers and in-line with other HVAC company rates.  Therefore, there will be no refund.  Unfortunately I don't think the customer was prepared for the cost of the work done and needed to borrow money to pay her invoice.  Her payment was made promptly for which we appreciated.
