    GPL installed the HVAC system in the house we bought. We moved in in July. AC seemed okay, though airflow was very weak on 2nd and 3rd floor. Come winter, 2nd and 3rd floor were very cold, never got above 62-63 degrees. The electric bill shot through the roof, averaging 800/mo, even with the thermostat set to 64 on 3rd floor (zoned system with 1st floor on separate thermostat). We've now had multiple HVAC companies come out and finally know GPL did this: First, used Fujitsu, an off-brand many HVAC companies don't even use or work on. They installed two heat pumps on the back of the house. They wired the system so the heat pumps are on, meaning the first floor isn't even using the gas furnace in the basement. And the wired the attic air handler unit and electric heat panel--which should only be used as emergency heat--to always automatically come on. Now we know why the electric bills are so bad. They also put in multiple "intake" vents that are NOT EVEN hooked up to ductwork! So the other huge issue for the 2nd and 3rd floors is that there's not enough intake to supply the returns, hence never getting to temperature. The job is shockingly sloppy and it's clear they did things as cheaply as possible. Unethical. Never use.
