Although I was pleased with the plumber that was sent, I feel as if I was scammed. I was in shock at the price of the garbage disposal replacement, but went ahead and had him do the work. After being scolded by my sons for allowing myself to be taken, I researched and discovered I probably payed $300-$400 more than I should have, at the very least. ****** learned. I wont use them again.

ValDel Plumbing charged an outrageous $610.00 for replacing 14" section of a 1/2-inch copper water line due to a pinhole leak. From ******* "On average, the cost for a plumber to section a 1/2 inch copper line would likely fall between $150 and $300, depending on your location, the plumber's rates, and the complexity of accessing the pipe; however, expect to pay closer to the higher end if the job involves significant wall or floor removal to reach the line."The pipe was fully exposed and within reach without standing on a ladder. The tech was in and out within 30 minutes.Even if you take the $300 ****** estimate (a generous amount) plus the $65 show-up fee, that's still an overcharge of $245.

It was a common kitchen sink drain problem. The pipe from the sink to the main drain in the basement had corroded and begun to leak. I called this ValDel company which I hadn’t used before because I wanted to try someone new. Their technician came out and fixed the problem in about 45 minutes. From what I can tell he did a good job.
When I spoke to the ValDel receptionist she said they charged by the job, not by the hour. I was later told by the technician that if I had asked her what the price was for this typical job, she wouldn’t have told me. She also said there would be a $65 charge just for coming out, if I didn’t use their services. So I was very surprised (no, make that flabbergasted) by the bill he presented me with.
The labor charge was $350. Remember he did the job in less than 45 minutes. I supplied the parts, but who knows what astronomical price he would have come up with for them. Then to add more pain (read profit) to the process, he put the “coming out” charge of $65 as an addition to the bill. However, I must add I was given a 5% senior discount of $21 (their generosity was underwhelming). In total it came out to $394. No wonder they don’t quote/charge by the hour!!! At over $400 per hour they would have a hard sell.

I've already talked to Joe V******. I told him the charge was outrageously excessive. I asked him to refund $244. He refused and hung up. I assume he has read my detailed complaint. ! don't have anything to add except as a comparison. If a electrician came out to his house and installed a ceiling light which took less than 45 minutes, would he be happy with a $394 bill?

Hire this company. Stay away from the bigger companies you think are better. They are not. This company, Valdel, was called for a second opinion as our initial company called was outrageous in price. Valdel came out same day called and Justin was the plumber who was excellent, knowledgeable, kind and honest and installed exactly what the other company quoted. Plus Valdes service fee is much less and they do not have a diagnostic fee. Justin explained everything and did an awesome job! Valdel, Justin is excellent!!!!

They didn’t disclose until after the job that because I couldn’t afford one of their overpriced repairs they would not warranty any of the work they did do. If this critical information would have been shared at the time of the quote I would have never authorized work. Overpriced job with no warranty, no thank you. In my opinion this was a complete scam. Avoid this place. I have had similar work for 1/3 the price so their claim of competitive pricing is also dishonest based on my experience but was desperate and needed to get the job done.
