    I have been seeing several specialist doctors regarding some health concerns of mine. One of them being potential sleep apnea and other sleeping issues. I was referred to Fabry Dental to get fitted for an oral appliance. On the day of setting up my appointment, I asked a few questions related to insurance and costs associated with my visit that would have helped me determine if I wanted to move forward with the appointment. The receptionist taking my call instructed she could answer my questions and they would be addressed during my visit. Fast forward to my visit, after driving 45 minutes.. I was told there was nothing that could be done for me without the proper diagnosis. I was then told I owed $75 for the 5-minute consultation. There was no explanation for the cost of the charge and that price does not match any copay I am required to pay with my insurance. I do not believe I should pay for a non service. I agreed to a consultation hoping for answers and an oral appliance but instead left disappointed. I am filing this complaint because inquired about the services over the telephone and could have determined if I wanted to move forward or not. Instead I was told nothing and showed up just to be charged for their service but to my knowledge, no service was conducted.

    Re: Complaint ID# ******** *******************************
    To whom it may concern;

    We are responding to the above complaint.
    Upon receiving this letter and the review on ****** we wanted to make sure the Patient received the proper attention when he called us. All of our calls are recorded for training purposes. So, we listened to the call.
    ************************ called our office on 5-23-23 to inquiring about a sleep appliance because he was referred to us by another office. He was informed that our sleep consultant was on vacation and we can leave her a message for when she gets back. He stated he wanted to set up a consultation. The scheduler informed him that she also works with the Doctor. Our scheduling coordinator offered him 2 appointment times, 8am or 1pm. He stated that 1 pm works because Eaton is a little bit of a drive for him at 8am.  After we confirmed the appointment he had a quick question. He stated that since we are dental office but he assumes that is will go through his medical insurance? The scheduler answered yes, he and the sleep consultant can over that at the time of the visit. He said ok. The call duration was 2:48.
    The patient and the sleep consultant did meet on 5-31-2023.  The appointment last approx. 15 to 20 minutes. The sleep coordinator went over his health history and the paperwork he brought with him in reference to his sleep study.
    Please see the attached clinical notes from the visit. Our consultation fee is $150.00. The sleep consultant gave the patient a discount  of 50% that day due to the fact he stated he could not move forward due to the out of pocket expense.

    Please contact our office if you need any additional information is needed.

    Sincerely,

    ********************************* COO
