This company was paid rent of $227.18 for a storage unit on October 27th for the full month of November 2023 after raising our rent $40 & not notifying us! We were told they would not let us pay a partial month while we moved out (we would be out by the 15th because there wasn't enough time to be out by Nov 1st at that point). The bill was paid from November 1st to the 30th. On November 6th, in the process of moving to another facility, this company locked us out of our unit & discarded our pass code to get through the gates to our unit & closed out our account with 25 days left on our contract. They refused to refund any of that money, claiming that because our unit was empty, they had the right to keep our money for the month AND not let us use the unit until the 30th (which was paid for). Nowhere in their paperwork does it state that they have the right to lock a customer out of a paid unit. $227.18 divided by 30 days equals $7.57/day to rent. We were locked out on the morning of the 6th day which means this company owes us $189.25 for the remaining 25 days we weren't allowed to use the unit. Corporate as well as the office manager have not been kind at all & refuse to come to any kind of an agreement. In my opinion, this company is being very dishonest & has no right to receive a double payment for this unit if it was rented for November by another customer.
