Monday, May 13th, 2024: I dropped the vehicle off at Eldred Collision and spoke with Doug E***** about the damages. Doug looked the vehicle over and informed me “The adjuster really overestimated the cost for repairs” Doug told me while looking at the vehicle that he would be able to make more repairs on the vehicle from previous damage that occurred before we purchased the vehicle with this extra amount. Doug emailed me saying he wrote a quick estimate for the repairs and said he could use the overage towards the repairs. I said that would be good. Doug then emailed me saying he could fix the bumper using my $250.00 deductible. I said that would be fine with me and to proceed. Based on the conversation, Doug and I were thinking two different things. I thought he was offering to do the extra work because the payment would cover the work, and Doug was meaning he could fix an entire side of my cars previous damage, bill me $2000.00 and save me $200.00 from insurance overage. Doug never attached an estimate to this email which neither of us caught. Based on our previous conversation and this attached email, it appeared the only cost for me was an added $250.00. If I knew the cost to fix the car, I would not have done the work. Friday June 21st, 2024: I received a phone call from Eldred Collision stating my Subaru Forester was complete. I asked for my bill total and was told I owed $5157.97. My insurance payment was $3045.32, and my deductible was $250.00. Doug E***** also submitted a supplemental claim to my insurance company totaling $1992.53. I paid all costs in full. Doug's secretary informed me that Doug E***** knew he did not send me any pricing for my out-of-pocket costs towards the vehicle. When Doug came into the office, I said hi and brought up the fact he never sent me any pricing, his response was sorry about that, but did you see how good the vehicle looks? He never tried to make anything right and became angered when I left a negative review.
