    I was signing up for therapy with L.L. Mulhollem Counseling and Psychotherapy LLC and gave all the necessary insurance information. Upon first getting into contact with the agency, I was told I was in network and able to get set up no problem as they accepted my insurance. I then went on to have four sessions, all while being told I was in network and covered by insurance. I was never told I wasn't in network before going to the four sessions I had so I was led to believe I was covered. My insurance was never vetted. It wasn't until session 5 I was told they could no longer accept my insurance and I'd have to pay cash from there on out. I was told they could NO LONGER accept my insurance, not that they never had. It was then a few weeks passed and I just got send and received a $570 bill for the counseling sessions I had been to. My insurance should've been vetted and checked from the beginning, which I was told it was and was accepted. I don't have that kind of money, I'm on a very limited income and cannot be burdened with such a high bill without going into a financial crisis. I should've been told from the beginning upon having given my insurance information that I was out of network and I never would've set anything up and would've gone elsewhere.

    Thank you for contacting L. L. Mulhollem Counseling & Psychotherapy, LLC (LLM). We received a letter from you in regards to a complaint about LLM. We are always happy to work with other organizations to help with any struggles with LLM. 

    I'm sorry that due to PA state law and HIPAA regulations, we are not able to confirm or deny that we have or had a patient by the name of Kari Ferrier, as presented in your letter. If you have the referred person complete the proper HIPAA release of information, we would be happy to send you any information you need, if this person is or was a patient of LLM. We would be happy to send you the consent form, financial form, and any other form that would be needed to resolve the situation.
