Detailz was originally hired in August of 2022 to remove old windows from a sun porch and replace them with new ones. The summer of 2024 it was noticeable that most of the caulking on the outside of the windows had failed. ****** was contacted late summer of 2024 with concerns about the caulking and that the window ***** were soft on the outside. At that time pictures were sent showing the caulking was gone. At first ****** was going to have his ******* from the job (*****) come out and inspect the windows but then ****** changed his mind and decided that without any inspection he would have the painter (who only painted the inside of the sun porch) caulk the windows on the outside. This was not acceptable as the window ***** needed to be inspected. When the painter came to correct an issue on the inside of the sun porch he said that ****** said that he was to put caulk on the outside of the windows and that no one else would be coming out to inspect things. Since ****** was unwilling to inspect the work his company did; I hired another contractor to inspect and make repairs. Not only had the caulk failed but the window ***** were rotted as the pictures show. I later sent ****** photographs and an inspection report and asked him why he thought he should NOT be responsible for this issue? He sent an angry email in response and refused to consider any reimbursement. I replied that since he did not want to resolve this matter I would let a small claims court sort it out. At that he point he responded that against his judgement he would offer to pay $1000 and not $3500, which is what the repair cost. My counter offer was $1500 in the form of a cashiers check to settle this matter. Now he is not responding to me. Im trying to resolve this matter in the most amicable way possible so I feel that contacting the BBB is the next logical step.
