12/10/22 My fiance and I visited the establishment for lunch. I had two separate transactions. One for our meal and one for a gift card. I was given my debit card back after the first transaction and not for the second one, but didn't realize that til I went to use it a few hours later. Called them right away and they said they did not have it. So I contacted the bank and deactivated my card. On the evening of 12/12/22, I received a text that my card was declined for a $260.00 purchase inside the restaurant I lost it at. Within the same minute, I received another text. Declined information for the same restaurant, but this time the charge was for $52.00. I called them right away and said someone there has my card. The manager told me it was him running my card for those amounts!! He claims he knew I would get the alerts and to come get my card. He told my it was found on 12/12/22 under their register. So I contacted the local police department and they told me because I didn't lose any monies there was nothing they could do. So I went and got my card. While I was there, I asked if it was their procedure to run a "lost" card for that much money? He said he hit the zero by accident. It was supposed to be for $25. He hit the wrong numbers all together and the card machine he has, to make it $260.00 He would have had to hit the zero three times by "accident" not just once. And the second amount was $52, not the $25 he claimed their process was for. Maybe I can see running the card for .99 cents. I feel like they were trying to take money from me and that makes me feel uneasy. When I went to get my card, I was then told the card was found (12/12/22) on the floor in front of the register. (Two days later?) They were lying to me. Their stories changed a few times. This whole process does not make sense to me. I feel wholeheartedly that they were trying to scam me for what they could get. Its sad, because they have great food and the staff is super friendly, well most of them.
