I CONTACTED ERIE FENCE TO REPAIR DAMAGE TO A FENCE ON MY PROPERTY CAUSED BY A TREE FALLING ON IT. They replaced the damaged top rail, and are charging me for repairs that they did not make, to the fencing and a post that wasn’t ever there.

We quoted this job while a tree was still on the fence. It is tough to gauge what all is needed for a repair when the fence is not accessible, so we play it safe and add some cushion in labor and material to our quotes (in this case, a post, piece of top rail and some chain-link.) In order for the tree guys to gain equipment access to the yard, another area of fence needed to be removed. We obliged, and removed the section of fence in a timely manner and at no additional cost. When the tree was finally removed, we fixed the damaged fence (only using a piece of top rail) and reinstalled the section that we removed for the tree guys. Our installers turned in the paperwork, and our office staff sent the invoice to Mr. ******* without removing the unused material. It was a simple miscommunication, but a miscommunication nonetheless, and for that, we apologize. Mr. ******* called to express his displeasure with the unchanged invoice, and our office staff was unaware of the changes that needed to be made. Mr. ******* said he would come to our office that day to discuss the invoice in person. In the interim, our office staff discussed the job and the changes that needed to be made. We called Mr. ******* and left a message saying that we had the solution and would be waiting for him. He did not show up that day. The next morning we received this BBB complaint, and shortly after opening, Mr. ******* came to our office. We produced the updated invoice and explained how we got to the new price.

I hired this fence company to repair or replace the fence in my backyard as I was having trouble keeping my dog in the yard. They came to see the issue and came back with what they guaranteed would solve the problem. I paid $1300.00 for them to start work and $913.00 after completion. They didnt fix any part of the fence just added a bar at the bottom of the fence. Immediately after that it didnt fix the problem. I told them it didnt work and the dog still pulled the fence and got out. This left several holes in the fence. I contacted them regarding this and they simply came to my house and threw some fence patches up. This doesnt solve her pulling the fence out in other places. I keep receiving a bill for thr $913.00 and refuse to pay as what they did was useless. They should have replaced the whole fence as it is old and not tight to the poles and the bar they installed. I have let them know that I'm not paying the rest since it has not been the right solution.

Ms. *******'s proposal was due to existing fence being loose.  On the left side, the fence was 8" above the ground. Erie Fence Inc was to  remove the existing fabric (chain link) leaving the frame and lower the left side of the fence to ground level, add 204ft of bottom rail, re-hang fabric (chain link) and tighten it.  The gate was to be refabricated with 4ft H x 5.5' W new residential extruded green vinyl coated chain link.  This job was completed and the balance of $916 was never paid, even though the crew moved items away from the fence line to complete their work..  We cannot and will not guarantee that a dog cannot break through a chain link fence especially a Saint Bernard.  The dog pushed his way through the chain link fence, Ms. *******e called and we sent a crew to close up the openings with 9ga chain link as a courtesy with no charges.  We never heard from Ms. ******* regarding the patches that were done.  She only contacted us to tell us that she is not paying because her dog still can get out.   the work she contracted was completed as per the work order.
