I have been an **** customer since I started driving. I had one accident where the other customer was fully at fault a few years and did not have insurance, and Erie did work to pay out the claim within ~30 days (apparently this is faster than other insurance companies - so it's not "very fast" when you have no car but I guess it is faster than the average.) I pay $2,091.00/ year for our two cars (newer 2023 cars.) I've been reasonably happy overall with the service over these last 15+ ******** recent disapproval is related to their network security incident and how they handled it. I didn't receive a paper or electronic mail noting that the incident was happening, and I figured it out once I went to pay my premium online and discovered they were not taking payments. Alarmed, since my bill was due within a few days - I called customer service. They noted that no, I wouldn't be listed as a lapse in coverage - and no, I wouldn't have any late fees for this gap. I asked if that was anywhere in writing - nope, there is nothing we can give you to be transparent about how this incident may/ may not impact you. I asked when I'll know that things are working again (vs. checking the website daily) - the *** noted that "I would be contacted when I was re-billed." Okay, then fine I suppose. I received no notification, and had basically forgotten until my husband mentioned it - I went to check online (~20 days from original billing) and was shocked that my first payment installment was listed as late! ****'s poor communication and transparency on this has made me shop around for the first time in over 10 years. Data breaches/ network breaches do happen - but the way a company handles it shows how they show up for their customers. Erie fell short.

I have been with **** for 30 years. My car records are clean. I moved from ********** to ************ and my car insurance skyrocketed from $1,200/year to $3,300/year per my agent who said **** increased quotes and prices and this new price for ************. By $ ***** per year??? I immediately called Erie for explanation, I wanted to hear myself. However, when I spoke to ** nobody wanted to talk to me and sent me back to my agent. In addition, both CS representatives were rude. Needless to say I found new insurance for car that is $1,100 cheaper than Erie quoted $3,000 ( with my clean record!!!) , I also canceled umbrella insurance and home insurance ( I sold home) and purchased rental insurance. This way Erie lost me for car and rental insurance after 30 years. It is my agents loss too. Greediness has consequences. I dont recommend Erie after all. Also, a note: **** publishes only positive reviews after positive interactions with clients and never send requests to review when customers are not satisfied or outcome is negative. FYI. So, BBB is the way to express my disappointment and dissatisfaction with Erie Insurance. **** *.

DO not work with Erie Insurance!! Working with one of their adjustors ***** ****. The MOST disrespectful person you can ever talk to. Immediately starts out very rude, Tells us she doesnt have to give us any information. Ask if we had the documentation to work with the client we said yes, and she said thats cool, we dont have to give you anything. Wouldnt let me talk, We files a WIND claim. She was telling me to write an estimate to the homeowner for what reason. The reason was she wanted to pay under, and force the homeowner to pay the majority out of pocket to scam the homeowner! DO not work with ***** ****, Her number one goal is to fraud the customers and not listen to any contractor to speak logic on why a roof may need replaced for storm damage. And also, she is representing insurance saying let us write a Work scope and if she pays more the homeowner can pocket the remaining money. She is frauding her own company by having a homeowner pocket the extra money. She is very insecure with her role, VERY RUDE and hung up on us because most homeowners dont know how to work insurance, so she takes advantage of them knowing that and makes it virtually impossible for contractors to talk to her. 2 lawsuits are already happening with ****. They are being sued for all there systems being hacks and customers getting their information stolen. You dont want to go here. They do not take care of their customers. Nationwide, they are 1-3 insruance companies that fight homeowner to get things paid out. ***** **** is one of the adjustors that do not want to pay out of what you guys are entitled and deserves.

My parents had a tree fall and do major damage to their garages. They contacted Erie Insurance and have yet to hear back from them. IT'S BEEN WEEKS! I don't understand why an adjustor cannot make a visit to check on and help them fix the situation. If your site is still down and you can update your status(es) then you can have someone make a home visit and write a check. When it rains, obviously rain is entering the buildings and more damage being done. The lack of caring from Erie Insurance has me on a mission to make sure they lose my parents business after this is resolved. WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE COMPUTERS?

A tree fell on my van, crushing the roof and smashing the driver's window eight days ago. Their web portal was breached, and the financial, civil, and criminal records were stolen. The first ***** I reached was two days later, and I took the claims information by hand. Since I couldn't access my account, I had access only to the insurance card in my glove box.Long story short, I haven't heard back despite reaching out to my own insurance broker, who took the same info. Eight days later, I have a crushed van with water pouring in. There is no tow truck. There is no rental car.

We just had a storm and a tree had fallen in my home and taken part of my gutter off. I have been contacting this company since the morning after the (4/17/25). No response!! Finally on Tuesday they claimed an agent worried be with me within 24 hoursstill nothing!! I have the only house in the neighborhood that has zero done to it since the storm. You can walk through my whole subdivision and my home will be the only one that still looks the same after the storm. This company is definitely one of the insurance companies that ******** refers to in their commercials because this company is the epitome of Mayhen!

Had the worst experience with this insurance company. I do not have a policy with them but their customer my car and when the guy that came to inspect my car, he left my car on all day yesterday. I didnt know he did because he didnt turn it on all the way so you couldnt tell from outside because I didnt drive the car yesterday at all. He checked it and gave me the keys saying he finished the job. But this morning when I went to use my car it was completely dead it wouldnt turn on. I called the inspector back and he came jump started my car and I took it to *****. ***** told me that the battery has to be replaced most likely because the guy didnt turn off my car. I filed a complaint with them but when I called to talk to his supervisor he just keeps saying that even tho he did that the insurance wont pay for it.

My issue is with a recent claim. Three complaints: 1. Told I could 'easily' provide necessary info using a link sent via email. I do 100% of online stuff using my laptop not my iPhone. Was not told up front a cell phone HAD to be used. First problem here was an error message 'browser not supported, must use Safari'. Spent 1 hour trying to use Safari as Safari is contracted to use ****** as it's search engine and all attempts to use Safari defaulted to ****** time and time again. **** hassle. 2. After finally working my way thru to use Safari, the link they sent provides zero instructions on how to use the link. Not user friendly at all. Spent 1 hour working my way thru the link after many failures. Bottom line, horrible link. 3. The claims *** who called me and explained the 'simple' link that I could use to provide the info went missing. I left 3 voice messages to call me and never did. Horrible, horrible customer service.
