      I scheduled an appointment with this location to have my 2023, Federal, State, and Local taxes filed. At my initial appointment on March 21, 2024, I was assigned to tax preparer, *************************************. I am self-employed, and, when I presented her with my Local tax form, she insisted I did not need to do Local taxes, claiming that it was the perks of being self-employed. She told me everything was filed for my *************** and printed a voucher for me to send what I owed for Federal taxes. My fee for this preparation session was $470, nearly double what I paid the previous year when I had taxes prepared for two separate states. In June, I received a letter that I not only owed Local taxes but a $25 late filing fee for them. My second appointment, June 27, the manager came out and announced to the ***** employees present that not only had I not filed my Local taxes, but I had not done my State either. I was given to ***********************************, and explained to her what ******** had done. The office manager said they would only charge me an additional $50 to fix both issues rather than the full $100 it would normally cost. They would not pay the fine as it was only $25; they also said I would not be fined for the State taxes being late if I filed them that day. I questioned the initial $470 fee. The manager claimed it cost them $70 to file each document for me, and suggested that, if I wanted my taxes done for free, I should learn to do them myself. I paid the additional $50, had them fix my taxes, and sent checks out to State and Local with letters to make them aware of the offices errors in case others had similar issues at this location. On August 9, I received a letter from the **************** with a late filing fine for $105.15 which I had been told by this office I would not be receiving. As they had been mishandling my taxes, I did not attempt to contact them to pay for this latest fine and paid it immediately myself.
