This project is for the ************Church of ********* Fairless Hills I called E & E Chimney sweeps and I told them I would like an estimate to find out what it would cost to update our chimney since we are going to get a new furnace. I explained that we are in the process of comparing oil and propane furnace and depending on the cost of the chimney that may help us to decide which way to go. If we go with Propane we will need to cape off the chimney and remove the pipe in the boiler room. They sent 2 guys out to look at the chimney and after they were done they wanted two hundred and some dollars. I was never told that there was a charge for the inspection. So the gentlemen who came out said they would let the office know. I got a call from *** at the office I explained the problem and he said they would reduce the price down to $109.00. I was not real happy about it but we said ok. Then a couple of days later I get a call from ****** who left me a message stating that could not give me an estimate until we have our furnace picked out. I called the office again and spoke to *** again, and explained again that we do not have a furnace picked out we are still trying to decide between oil and propane. I asked him to cancel the invoice and he said that he could not do that. Since they cannot give us an estimate I feel that we should not have to pay this bill. Thanks ***********************

    Business Response

    Hello,

We are sorry to hear you are upset with the service.  First, we would like to inform you that when installing a new appliance, by code a level 2 inspection must be done as you were originally advised.
We reduced the price to $109.00 as a courtesy. By doing that we are actually losing money being that we paid 2 technicians to do the inspection that we were contracted to do.
We cannot properly give you an estimate without knowing what heater you were planning on installing. We need to make sure the chimney is of proper size.

It is a shame that you felt the need to contact BBB over this, being we still havent even collected the balance due from you. (Which we also said would be deducted from the work being done.)
We have you on hold waiting for you to get back to us with the appliance you were going with.

We are a small family business. We have been in business over 40 years. We did not get this far by ripping people off. Our first priority is our customers safety and satisfaction. We take great pride in our reputation.

As per ****, forget about paying the $109.00 at this time. We will mark your account accordingly.
