    BBB complaint for incorrect and incomplete installation of a generator. DiGregorio Electric does not have the skill set to install generators and did not take responsibility for providing an operating product per the agreement. We hired DiGregorio Electric in May 2023 to install a Cummins generator at our home. They were able to show us the generator ran; we paid them $12,306 (HIC# ******). But the generator never ran again without being manually turned on. Over the next 6 months they were unable to get the generator to run for the routine weekly exercise; nor as triggered by a power outage. The electrical system was initially not wired correctly. *********** corrected the wiring error but was unable resolve subsequent issues caused by the wiring error. They replaced the battery and a blown fuse, but the system still did operate. We notified DiGregorio that we were going to hire another company to come out to assess the problem. We told them that it was their responsibility to get the generator running and that we expected them to reimburse us for any expenses incurred if it was their fault versus a warranty issue. They ignored all communication about such. The new technician found that a fuse, installed by *********** Electric, was not inserted properly. In addition, the technician said the generator was not properly installed on a cement pad but rather was sitting on the ground on top of plastic piping and mulch. In the latest storm water and debris got into the bottom of the generator and will eventually deteriorate the generator. We wrote to DiGregorio and told them about the repair costs to find the fuse and the estimate to install the cement pad. After three attempts to get them to make this good, there is silence. We want DiGregorio to refund us for the are stuck with a bill for $2,000 to finish the job. DiGregorio did not meet their contractual obligation to install a functioning generator and did not fulfill their ethical responsibility to cover additional cost to make the project right.
