This incident involves a garage located in ************, **. My husband and I dropped out truck off back in Aug of 2023 to have some work done. The turn around time was to be 1 month. As time went on, they did not have the vehicle done. We had a trip planned, so we went and got the vehicle because we needed to use it to haul our camper. An agreement was made that once we brought the vehicle back from our trip, the garage would finish the vehicle within a few weeks. Each week their was a different excuse as to why the truck wasnt done, but there was major lack of communication. Every time we stopped at the garage, the owner claimed the truck was at their barn, but we had never actually saw it. After 7 months, we finally went today and picked up the truck on 3-22-2024. When we got there, they were still touching things up. The seal on the windshield (which originally was only peeled a little bit in one corner) was now halfway ripped off on both sides, so they just ripped it the rest of the way. One of the gauges was not working, and the owner said he didnt notice so we just needed to stop back next week and it would take 3 minutes to fix. He originally took $4,400 from us for parts so they could be ordered and mentioned that all parts came with a warranty, but now he is claiming thats what they tell him. Its supposed to be warranted. Stories have constantly been changing from him. Today when we went to pick it up, we asked to negotiate on the rest of what we owed which was $1,600 (verbal agreement). He claimed he was not taking money off because the truck was complicated and he did other stuff to it (not authorized by us) that he was already eating money on. We felt that if we tried to argue, he wouldnt let us take the truck. We are asking for the labor back and some reimbursement for what now needs fixed. We also want justice for anyone else this has happened to. we were told by another garage that this is the 5th complaint they have heard about them.
