    On March 30, 2023 I purchased an engine from Gar’s Auto. I was advised by Gar’s Auto the engine would be installed immediately being that the engine was for my work vehicle and I needed the vehicle for work. After three weeks of being promised my engine would be installed and it wasn’t, I took the engine I paid $2,725.00 to another mechanic. Once the mechanic installed the engine it was discovered the engine didn’t work. I received another engine and again the mechanic installed it to discover again the engine was no good. Gar’s Auto refuse to respond or attempt to resolve the issue. I was also told the engine purchased by Gar’s Auto had 89,000 miles on it.. I discovered the engine had 105,000 miles on it. To date, I’m out of my money spend on the engine and the money due to the mechanic (twice for the installation of two bad engines).

    In response to the complaint that was filed against my company Gars Auto Repair complaint id number ******** customer ***************************.

    Customer *************************** contacted my shop regarding a used engine for his truck, I advised **************** that I would not be able to get his truck in to the shop for a few weeks do to not having enough room in the shop or the time to get his truck in and repaired I advised **************** that he would be able to bring the truck in within the next few weeks. he was ok with that but than he also kept calling pushing for me to at least purchase the engine ahead of time.so that the engine would be there once the truck was brought in,  so I did get the engine for **************** from *****'s Auto and the engine did come to the shop and I advised him that the engine was in the shop and after about a week **************** called and advised me that he could not wait the few weeks as previously discussed for me to get the truck in cause it was his work truck and that he wanted to get it fixed as soon as he could and advised me that he found another mechanic that was gonna put the engine in for him, so **************** arranged a date that he came to pick up his engine that he bought from *****'s Auto. When **************** came to pick up the engine I helped him put the engine in the truck and gave him the receipt from *****'s Auto. **************** is and was aware that the engine was purchased from *****'s Auto and not from myself or my shop. Being I do don't sell parts in my shop we are a repair shop. **************** also was aware that the engine that he did buy was a used part and it had a warranty on it. a couple weeks had passed and **************** called me and advised me that the engine was put in and it was not a good engine and I advised him to contact *****'s Auto cause that is where the engine was bought from and after speaking with *****'s Auto they sent over another engine to the mechanic that had installed the other engine and that was also installed buy the other mechanic that **************** took his truck to. he had the engine sent to in the mechanic that installed the first engine for him and again that engine was also not working per **************** so again I advised him again to contact *****'s Auto in which he did and I believe they replaced the engine again. **************** is and again was aware that the engine that he bought from *****'s Auto and was a used part and not a brand new one and again **************** choose to buy the engine and once it came he choose to take the engine and have some other mechanic install the engine. My company has nothing to do with this or the engine other than I ordered the part for him  from *****'s Auto cause he kept asking me to order it before I was even able to get his truck into my shop and he was the one that chose to take the engine from my shop to have another mechanic to install it for him. So again the engine was purchased from *****'s Auto and not my shop. I can not refund any money that i did not receive cause the money **************** gave was for *****'s Auto he did not buy the engine from myself or my shop.

    **************** purchased the engine from a *****'s Auto and not from me or my shop.

    **************** was aware that the engine he bought was used and not brand new and did have a warranty on it.

    **************** was told to contact *****'s Auto for the problem in which he did and they sent him another engine and I even helped with that as well.
    So this issue is between **************** and *****'s Auto,  My shop or myself have nothing the do with this at all. 

    **************** and his other mechanic have been in contact with *****'s Auto and they have been doing all they can to make sure **************** get the issue resolved.

    This is so crazy that **************** wrote to the BBB against me when I was not in the wrong at all nor was my shop.
