It took the man nearly 5 months to build an addition onto my house and charged us extra half way through saying i need it because the price of material went up. This was after we paid him for the material and it should have been ordered already by then.
He threatened to leave if we didnt give him the extra money for material. So we paid him and he took another 2 months to finish the job. About half way through the construction job my husband fell ill and had to be hospitalized. I went with him to the hospital 50 miles from my home and didnt leave his side until the night he passed on, which was another month after we finally dropped DZ Miller. Prior to this he came to my home to talk to my son about whats left to do, but my I forgot to write a check for him because I was at the hospital. I offered to Venmo or Paypal him which he didn't have either. He was quite agrivated by this and my son told him he would get it for him on Monday and drop it off at his house. The next day a Saturday, he is texting me and my son and demanding cash that day and threatening to charge us an extra thousand just because he drove to my house along with threatening to go back to my house and start tearing down stuff he had built. Claiming he needs to pay people and he doesnt like getting jerked around. This man was well aware my husband was in the hospital and not doing well and I was with him. He can take months to not finish a single room but we come 1 day late with a payment and he starts to threaten me. Mind you this is all because we were 1 day late on an 800 dollar check after the tens of thousands of dollars we had given him. We dropped DZ Miller that day and my son spent the the last month of his fathers life working on what DZ Miller didnt finish. After my husband passed I came home to a house with 2x4's instead of 2x6's. The room was not level. It dropped by 5 inches on one side. The trusses were garage quality not house quality per a new contractor. I had to fix it all
