JA Myers is not an honest company. We lived in a rental property for 3 years, maintained our home with respect to the property and raised 3 children. There was only normal wear and tear on the unit. We terminated our lease early because we were purchasing a home knowing there would be some fees. We hired a professional carpet cleaning service as requested in our lease. JA Myers stated they were not happy with the job and still smelled an odor so we had the carpet cleaning company come back out. The carpet cleaning company stated they did not identify an odor and felt the property manager was being unreasonable and difficult. After cleaning the carpet again as requested, JA Myers stated they would still charge us for a full carpet replacement. It was reported to us by the carpet cleaning company that JA Myers called the company to “get their stories straight and get on the same side” should we take JA Myers to court. They proceeded to charge us in excess of $7,000 for move out costs such as painting the unit. The paint was ordered and delivered before we even had a move out inspection. There were various other charges as well. We asked for receipts for the charges and they refused to give us any. We asked in general about some of these charges and were completely disregarded and not given a response. They tried to get us to sign a NON DISCLOSURE CLAUSE agreeing not to discuss anything with anyone. We agreed to payment, but refused to agree to the non disclosure clause. JA Myers stated that they would take us to court and any payment agreement was terminated. This was AFTER we paid them $2,000. They refused to comment about the addition of that clause. We had work orders that we placed for items breaking in the home that were never fulfilled until the week we were moving out (more than 6 months after the work order was placed). They lie and misrepresent things. Thoroughly read your contracts REGARDLESS of what they tell you. The company is not run with integrity.
