This small business has had my step-daughters vehicle for 15 weeks, due to a blown oil seal that caused engine damage. It was agreed that another engine would be required. My stepdaughter advanced $1,000 on the understanding that another engine would be sought. Since 15 weeks ago, I have been driving my stepdaughter backwards and forwards to work, a round-trip of 30 miles from where she lives and return, four or five times a week, twice a day, a very stressful situation for both myself and my stepdaughter. It appears that nothing was done about finding the replacement engine. Five weeks ago my stepdaughter borrowed the money to pay for a more expensive, reconditioned engine, and was told it would take two weeks for the engine to be delivered and the vehicle made serviceable. Since then, every time an inquiry has been made as to when the vehicle would be ready, the answer has been a vague in a couple of days.I have also been informed (this morning, 5/16/2024) that because the old engine was removed from the vehicle, the vehicle can no longer be started, and that it needs to be towed to an accredited Chev dealer, at my stepdaughters expense, because, as the person at Jrs Vehicle Repair informed my stepdaughter, we cant help the fact these new vehicles sometimes lose their minds As the vehicle is a 2015 vehicle (not new, by any means), I can only assume this is a matter of incompetency on behalf of this business. Nor, when my stepdaughter asked (numerous times) for a ball-park figure regarding the cost of the repairs, there was no answer. The person I spoke to on the phone also informed me the vehicle will not be released until work and towing expenses to the Chev dealer are paid. The service manager at the Chev dealer also informed my stepdaughter the lockout of my stepdaughters vehicle is most likely NOT what JR. says it is.I WILL be contacting my lawyer if there is no satisfactory resolution of this problem within 3 days of this report.
