Owner Anthony W******* of Wilwert Electronics Inc. claimed to me on several occasions this broad base statement that he could “fully repair my vintage ******* **** AM/FM stereo receiver amplifier for $189.00. He stated $50.00 to diagnose the problem which would be deducted from the $189 repair fee. He stated “Worse comes to worse I will repair the entire unit for $189.00” Unit valued at $2000 to $3000. 8/18/2022 I dropped off the ******* **** Serial Number #***** and paid Anthony the $50 diagnostic fee check number #**** on 8/18/2022 Please find the enclosed PDF copy of my cancelled check. False claims of competency in highly sophisticated electronics repairs. False advertising, misrepresentation of service. Bait and switch i.e. That he had complete ability to repair this electronic unit. Upon diagnosis of the Marantz 2270 he retracted his statement of full repair for $189, and switched it to $400-$500. Any electronics repair person would not even open the unit until they checked the inputs and outputs for signal flow and strength, also that the AM/FM tuner function is at full capacity and strength i.e. the reception of AM/FM radio stations. He said everything was fine but the AM /FM tuner was only working at 50% power. I had already stated to him that the unit was running at approximately 50% power Anthony ask me do you want the AM/FM system to work? I said of course, why do you think I brought a valuable $2000 AM/FM stereo receiver amplifier to you for repair. He is now holding my vintage ******* **** AM/FM stereo receiver amplifier hostage for an additional $100, $150.00 total for telling me what I already knew. He did no repair and did not fulfill his promise of fully repairing my unit for the agreed-upon sum of $189.00. Resolution sought: return of my ******* AM/FM 2270 stereo receiver amplifier with no further payment than the $50 diagnostic fee I paid on 8/18/2022.
