I was originally a member of the Planet Fitness Peckvilel Location. I received a promo to join the ********* location at a cheaper rate. I was told to cancel my Pecville membership to open one up in *********, which I did in December 2023. In early February I requested a freeze on my account due to a short-term family issue. I was told to come into the club to sign the forms. At the club, I was informed that my membership was canceled because I was "dead". I was told if I reopened it would be under the new $24.99/mo rate. I did not reopen the membership. They said I had a $0-zero balance on the account. Months later I sent a request to management to find out why my account status said I was dead and how do I get the original pricing agreement back. The manager called and left a message saying I owed over $160 in charges. I then got an email saying they would waive the fees if I returned and reopened my ************* account should never have been canceled. I do not owe them money at all.I have submitted a copy of my membership agreement and the screenshots from my online account with them showing that I do not have an active agreement anymore, as a screenshot showing that for some reason my "inactive account" is showing a past due $19.99 (which it shouldn't) and that I had a bill due June 17/2024 (which I shouldn't because my account is inactive and I did not rejoin and reactivate my account.)The one screenshot shows that the agreement number is inactive, meaning it was canceled.I am not paying them anything they state I owe because I do not owe anything. They are the ones who stated that I was "dead" and closed out the account -- thus the "inactive account" status online. I should not have been charged anything because they closed out the account. I am requesting the account be reopened under my former $19.99 rate and that all these so-called charges are deleted. They are a corporate-owned location, not a private franchise, but corporate says they can't help

The problem occurred at the Planet Fitness in ************, both my account and my mothers account were charged for a late fee. When I brought this up to the employees they said it was because it was a system error that they could not locate the banking information. When looking at the bank statement, there are multiple charges all for different amounts. What is the explanation for this? If the membership is 15 then why is there a 10, 20, 35, 49, and 59 charge. If they can access the account to charge a late fee then why are they claiming that they couldnt get access to the account. The location is refusing to offer a refund or to rectify the situation. After this problem I had them cancel my membership and they told me that I would still have access until July 16, but now they have gone back on what they said and have shut down my membership. What kind of business allows their employees to act so childish that they stop my account because I was being wrongly charged for something that I cannot control. Planet fitness is a scam of a business that draws you in with low monthly fees only to find ways to make additional charges.
