    Aamco *********************************** My 2010 ****** Highlander was towed to Aamco on December 5, 2024 due to a broken transmission. It was completed around December 20th.First time we took it back on January 3rd, it was leaking transmission fluid. They claimed to fix it and tightened clamps.Second time we took it back on January 18th, it was leaking transmission fluid still. We saw they cut the lines which were originally solid lines and put multiple style hose clamps on it. They ordered the proper hose lines from *******Around January 30th, we took it back for them to install the hose lines from *******When we got it back, we kept hearing a loud knocking sound. The sway bar bushing mount was broken off. We took it back again on February 7th, they claimed to fix that.We got it back and within a few days, it was still knocking and now the exhaust was really loud. We noticed there was change and my husband's wedding ring was stolen out of the car. We have not taken it back or called again, every time we do more is broken than fixed. We do not want it worked on at this location any longer. We do not trust the management or their employees.

    When we completed the repair with a pre-owned transmission the car was road tested the car and delivered it with it operating normally. When they returned 2 week later we noticed the cooling lines from the transmission to the radiator were leaking. Not the transmission. Since the lines were 15 years old and not part of the repair we repaired them at no charge. The lines are made of rubber and metal. The rubber becomes dry rotted after 15 years. When they returned they were leaking again. This time we decided to replace them but dealerships are only required to maintain parts up *************************************************************** two. The lines cost about $200. Even though we never charged for the lines with the original repair we did not charge the customer for the lines and the labor to install them. When they returned a time layer they complained about the bad bushing. No argument, we also fixed that at no charge. I know nothing about change and a ring being stolen. No one has ever mentioned that. We have signs in the waiting room asking customers to remove all valuables. I would consider a wedding ring valuable. If my wife thought I was not wearing mine and I left it in the car I would be in a lot of hot water. We do not have a theft problem here. The car was towed in and sat before we ever touched it. Finally, I was also not aware of an exhaust problem. It has been 4 or 5 months. When our home office contacted me last week about an outstanding customer complaint I tried to call the customer but no answer or return of my voice message. Because of the cooling line issue the customer has zero confidence in us. Im sorry but Ive done my best to make up for it. I just learned about this BBB complaint an hour ago. I wish I had gotten the message last week

    Dear BBB,I'm trying to recover costs of towing (Proof Towing Cost - $390) and car rental (Proof car rental Hertz Receipt - $976.62) from AAMCO during the rebuild of my transmission (AAMCO ********.) that AAMCO admitted fault due to the original attempt at repair (AAMCO ATTA Transmissions ****** I am looking for AAMCO Corporate or one of their franchises to reimburse me $1,336.62.I complained to ******* Brighton from AAMCO ************* (AAMCO Consumer Support) and she said that Corporate is not responsible for any reimbursement. Surely Corporate should be able to enforce behavior of its franchises and hold them accountable for overall reimbursement due to substandard work resulting in placing a customer in a dangerous situation.I was driving home from ** to ********* MD on Sept 8 2024 when my transmission failed in **************** (***** miles from home). After a lot of anxiety I managed to get a tow that dropped the car off at AAMCO *********, ***************************************** *************) and then got an **** home. The cost of the tow was $390.AAMCO - Gwim inspected the car the morning of Sept 9 2024. They admitted that it was a faulty install of the transmission by AAMCO ATTA Transmissions ***** **************************************** *************) from Jan 12 2024. As it was warranted Gwim repaired it with no further charges. However, It took 29 days to repair and hand the car back to me. Meanwhile, in order to go to work I had to rent a car from ******** AAMCO ATTA Transmissions were at fault I am asking that Corporate coordinate reimbursing me the sum of $1,336.62 to cover the cost of towing and car rental. I believe this to be fair as I feel that breakdown put me in a situation of danger and high anxiety. Also, I was left with no choice in having to rent a car as it took AAMCO Gwim 29 days to repair the car.If you need any further information please do not hesitate in getting in touch with me.Yours truly,Naiyah Atulomah

    To Whom it My Concern:
    In response to the BBB complaint listed below, our position is as follows;
    The instance in question happen 8 months and ***** miles after the service that was perform here at the AAMCO in ************, **. This time frame indicated that the service performed by Hackettstown was proper and not due to "substandard work." I received the paperwork from ********* *** and there is no indication of substandard work by Hackettstown ***
    In addition, according to the terms of the nationwide warranty the consumer must call the nearest AAMCO if they have a warranty issue, in this case the nearest AAMCO to where she had this issue is Lancaster PA and not ********* ***This would have reduce the tow bill, which is also not covered by the AAMCO Nationwide warranty. The issue of the rental car, also a non covered item under the AAMCO warranty, is mute due to it not being covered.
    The ********* ** took care of the transmission issue as evident by the fact that Ms. ******** has had the vehicle back in her possession since early October 2024.
    One last point in my discussions with the owner of the ********* ** AAMCO Center, he stated the reason for having the vehicle for 20+ days was due to the ***** dealer problem with getting the parts in a more timely fashion.
    Thank you,
    **** B. ****** President of ATTA Transmissions Inc. of ************, **.

    I am rejecting this response because when the car broke down due to AAMCO's incomplete work, I was in danger, in an area I am unfamiliar with at night as a lone, young woman. I was also not told a consistent timeline for how long the car would be in the shop, it took 20+ days (almost a month) where I had to keep extending my hold on the rental vehicle.

    Sincerely,

    Naiyah Atulomah
