My project has not even been completed yet and I could not recall a worse customer experience in my time as a homeowner! I received a promotional letter in the mail from Acre Windows/Doors back in August 2022. Because of their affiliation with the reputable Anderson Windows/Doors Co., I decided to request an estimate for a new front entrance door. The sales representative sat in our home for over 2 hours over-selling this company and their product. Priced at nearly $12,000, considerably higher than other companies for the same project. We decided to go with Acre, believing that the quality of the product was most important. Our goal was to have the project done before the brutal New Jersey winter months approached. We were told we’d have an installation date set within 8-12 weeks max from the day we signed the contract on 8/26/22, taking us into November. It is now the end of January, winter is in full swing and our project has not yet been started. I’ve already paid my $4000 deposit due at signing and have received multiple push backs with my installation date. Every time I speak with a staff member from this company, I get the runaround and an earful of B.S.! “Oh it’s because of Covid. Oh it’s because of inflation.! Last time I heard from the company they had a new installation date set for “the week of February 20” (6 months after the contract was signed). At this point I’m just waiting for the next call from them, stating that my project will be delayed further with another poor excuse. Had I not already paid $4000 toward this project, I would’ve went with another company a long time ago. What a disappointment. Word of advice to fellow consumers, do not trust this company. If I could do it over again, I would’ve went with my gut, hired a sub-contractor from Home Depot. Would’ve had my new front door months ago and saved a couple of thousand dollars!!
