On 11/1/21 I paid Laurel Highlands Fence $592.38 for a fence. They have never delivered my fencing and won’t return phone calls. It appears they may not be in business any longer. Do I have any recourse?

    Deposit excepted 5/6/22

We have tried multiple times to contact this company that took $5928.00 deposit from us for a fence around our property.

We understood it would be late fall before they could get to us. After not hearing anything, we called only to find the number disconnected as well as their email was “not found”, when sending an inquiry.

We want our full deposit returned. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

In October 2021 I contracted with Laurel Highlands Fence & Railing Company to provide a custom railing around our pool (see attachment). I also gave them $20,000 to purchase materials for the project. If you need a copy of the cancelled check please let me know and I will forward it to you. The quoted project price was $38,979.00 (see attachment). On March 3rd, 2022 messages that Laurel Highlands was no longer in business began appearing on the internet. The company responded they had moved to a new location. In April 2022 we received a message from Laurel Highlands that our fence would be installed in May 2022. May came and went and no reply from Laurel Highlands Fence & Railing. After Memorial Day, I began calling and emailing them 2 or 3 times a week asking when our fence would be installed. The proposal/contract said 16 to 18 weeks. We were now at 7 months or 28 weeks. I never received a call or e-mail reply from the company. My wife and our landscaper also called and emailed them numerous times over the next 30 days but were never called back or e-mailed a response on when the fence would be installed. In late June I sent the company an ultimatum via e-mail and left them a similar message by phone but still no response. I decided to travel to Youngwood to visit the old and new locations. The attached photos show what I found at both. All I want is our initial $20,000 down payment returned to us. Otherwise, I will have to seek other means of recovering the money I gave them in good faith. I recommend you try calling or emailing the company using the telephone number on their website and the contact us form.
