    This company responded to my request of returning my security deposit of $99.00 with an "outstanding balance" statement that was uploaded to my "Campus Edge online portal" account on August 29th. The owners are claiming that I did not pay rent for the month of July. I moved out on July 11th, 2023. I paid rent for the August 2022- May 2023 school year through May 11th to the previous property owners, University Square. I hand-delivered my rent check of $650.00 (per month) to the Campus Edge office for May 11th-June 11th, as well as June 11th-July 11th. No receipt was provided to me, but I am able to provide check numbers from my records, as well as confirm that the checks were cashed via my bank. The statement incorrectly claims that I owe a total of $950.00 from rent and late fees for June 1st- June 30th, as well as July 1st-July 31st. My lease with Campus Edge at IUP shows an end-date of July 11th, therefore I would not be paying from July 1st through July 31st, but paid June 11th-July 11th. A proof of move-out form from July 11th was uploaded on the company's portal account. The payment section of the portal shows proof of payment that was uploaded on June 26th. The outstanding balance statement shows that my security deposit return was applied to this balance. Therefore, I keep requesting that they return the money to me and resolve the incorrect statement as I did pay my rent. I have been in contact with the property manager, "Holly", several times regarding this matter since August 16th, 2023. I sent several emails to her and the landlord, asking for them to resolve the matter and return my security deposit. I have provided them proof via copies of my leases from both them and the previous owners and my proof of move-out form. They keep telling me that they will call me back but never do. I have also now been locked out of my portal account to view the documents or contact the owners.

    Good morning,

    In response to this complaint, our business rectified all matters prior to receiving your letter in the USPS mail.  Resident's portal was incorrect, previous manager made an error.  The same manager quit with no notice and we were unaware of the problem.  Once ***** brought the matter to our attention, the matter was corrected immediately.  She has already received your security deposit refund check and her account shows a $0 balance.
