On 12/21/22, Elite Dentistry performed a routine cleaning for my 4-year-old son. They informed me that this new technology "panoramic image" was available and covered by my insurance to help better image his teeth. There were no underlying concerns. I only allowed this service due to the assistant reassuring me that the "panoramic image" was covered under my insurance plan and was pushy in doing so. I did not have time to review my insurance to confirm her knowledge and assumed that she does this for a living and knows better than me! Well, sure enough, this procedure was not covered under my insurance, and now I am responsible to pay them $148 to cover the cost.
I have not paid this cost yet and would like my bill to be adjusted in the amount of $148. I will not be allowing any additional procedures on any of my family members that Elite Dentistry attempts to push on us, even if I am assured it is covered.
I believe this instance is teetering on the lines of dental fraud.

Went to appointment on Sept 6, 2022 @ 1 pm
upon exiting the appointment I asked if I had a balance. There response NO.
first electronic bill received 9-13-22 in the amount of $112.00, I telephoned and they said oh NO, you do not owe anything.
second electronic bill received 9-23-22 in the amount of $112.00. I called again and they said YES, you do owe because you came to the dentist earlier than your insurance would allow and you had an exam. I said would you please have your office manger call me. Johnna the office manger never returned my call so I figured they must have adjusted the account and accepted my insurance as payment in full since they are in the PROVIDER network.
I called the Manger whom said she never received a message to call me and Yes, I owed the 112.00.

I then telephoned my insurance carrier who is United Concordia on 10-4-22 @ 11:34 am whom confirmed Elite Dentistry is in network and should only be charging $36.27.

Had the office Manger been able to communicate 1, you may have a balance you are responsible for after we submit to your insurance company the entire time I would not have a complaint I WOULD HAVE UNDERSTOOD CLEARLY. However after inquiring 3 times do I have a balance and them saying NO multiple times!
I have paid the balance in full of $36.27 today 10-10-22 but would like a full refund due to their unprofessionalism
