On September 20, 2022 my wife and I stayed at a Holiday Inn for one night in Johnstown PA. At approximately 3PM we walked into the hotel to ask for an available room and we booked it. After we got home, I noticed two charges on my bank statement, one for $147.07, and one for $142.07. I called the hotel right away to discuss why. Person I talked to actually was the person that checked us in, and he said he remembered me, and it's very odd. He was able to see original charge when I came into hotel at approximately 3PM, and then another online reservation made through their website at 5:22 PM. Obviously I did not make that, I was already in a room. The hotel referred me to corporate reservations. I got a case number through them, #***********. I also called my bank and reported it to them. After those initial contacts with them, I've called MANY more times to see if there is any news on me getting my money back, and have not gotten anywhere with them. I just keep getting sent back and forth to the actual hotel and reservations people, and nothing gets done. Reservations person tells me it's the hotels responsibility to get me my money back, and the hotel tells me they can't do that. Actual confirmation number for the legitimate billing is ********. That is on the bill I included in attachment here as well as bank statement showing two charges, and letter from my bank stating they determined there is no error. I apologize for receipt from hotel being torn up and taped back together. I thought I didn't need it and threw it in the trash, then realized there was two charges.
I surely hope something can be done on your end. I really need to get my money returned to me. I hate to think these people are doing this to people often, knowing most won't catch it, or they get frustrated and don't follow through with researching it.
Thank you for your time, and please reach out to me for more info if needed. Thanks
