    I have been trying to settle an ambulance bill for over a year. I have sought the help of the insurance company, and they have tried to get a resolution. They have asked the ambulance service to resubmit the claim. The ambulance service has sent this to collections, and I have received letters that they will come to my house or press charges on me. I did get payments from my primary insurance I am willing to pay on, but it is not my fault the ambulance service did not bill correctly the first time and then waited over a year to bill medical assistance. I just need help.

     The dates of service for *** ****** are November 11, 2021 and March 29, 2021. West End Ambulance sends out several statements to consumers requesting payment or at the very least  the consumer contact them to arrange a payment plan.  To the best of our knowledge *** ****** made no attempt to communicate with our client. We received the accounts approximately 120 days after service was provided. We sent out several notices to her beginning in April of 2021, all of these notices provided information for her to dispute her debt with West End Ambulance. She never did in the allotted time provided for under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. We attempted contact as allowed with no response from *** ****** for eleven months we finally made contact with her on March 18th 2022. At this time she informed us she had secondary insurance. This was the first time we or our client  were given this information. West End Ambulance submitted a claim to her secondary insurance however the secondary insurance denied the claim under time barred clauses due to the extended time since the date of service. *** ****** was sent a notice of denial. On April 26th contact was finally made again and the consumer blamed our client for her denied payment . At this time we had become aware that *** ****** had received payments from her insurance companies to use for payment on these accounts our clients never received any of these designated funds and to date still have not. Contact was not able to be made with the consumer until November 7th 2022, at this time the consumer made payment arrangements with the first payment due on November 28th 2022.  To date no payment has been received by our client or us. The consumer misappropriated the funds she received from her insurance companies and has become non-responsive. West End Ambulance through First Credit Resources Inc. desires to resolve this issue with *** ****** and looks forward to hearing from her and receiving the promised payments.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

    West End was aware of all information regarding insurances. I have faced and phone records to prove this. I have also spoken to the insurance companies, and there was delayed efforts on West End Side. I have a bill from July this year that west end just sent, they were made aware of my secondary insurance. I spoke to the insurance and a claim was never made. The insurance companies have requested to Val at west end to resubmit the claims and she has refused.
