On 10/18/02024, best darn movers arrived at my apartment in ********, ************,to pack my belongings into boxes and move them into an u-haul as I was moving to *******. Best darn movers had a team that handled the entire boxing process and transported the TV to the U-Haul, and a dedicated worker who packed and configured the U-Haul. After they closed and locked the U-Haul door, we traveled to our new location. When I opened the boxes, I saw that our tv had a large scratch that created many dead pixels going about half the length of the entire TV. Best darn movers was contacted on 10/23/24 and stated that because they were not the ones who unboxed the TV, they have no liability and will not provide us their insurance information for us to file a claim.Several days prior to the move, we had asked the best darn movers how to safely move our TV- they had said that they would be bringing TV box to protect it. They did not, and asked us to buy one from the u-haul company, which we did, and they used the box when packing the TV.

      Hi *******.

      Re complaint: 22467791

Today I have printed out and mailed to your **************** the ENTIRE email trail between a one- ***** *********. I don't know who ******* ***** is but I'll assume an interested party. Whoever it is, there is very little truth or logic to this complaint.

First of all, this is EXACTLY the reason that no mover on earth covers the new flat-screen tv's. Anyone can say 'the mover did it'. You'll see in the body of the emails I've sent you, that we had strongly suggested that customer's pack up their own flat-screens, that we don't even want to touch them. Do I doubt that this TV was damaged before we got there? No I do not. Either way we are not covering it.

***** states, "BestDarnMovers had a team that handled the entire boxing process..." SORRY BUT NO. Email of October 5, me to *****, clearly states that we are only loading the truck, NOT packing items from the rooms. ******* reply is 'We can pack the stuff on our own". Which they did.

***** states, "...BestDarnMovers said they would be bringing a (TV) box to protect it. They did not. ... <"we bought one"> and they used that box when packing the tv. Ok, they had a box and it was used for the tv. No fireworks here. But what actually transpired is that earlier in the conversation I mentioned that "I can usually come up with a box for the tv". I could not (it's a 65"), so I told him and he said he purchased one. Additionally I warned him once more. "Boxing that tv is something you should do in advance. That was my second warning that he/they should box the tv's on their own.

You'll see all this in the sheets that I'm mailing to you.

We have insurance for legitimate damages. The insurance has a $1000 deductible so filling out a claim form is a waste of time. And btw, after depreciation, this $480 claim is probably about half; that's a moot point. I'm not paying a dime. As I stated in my original reply to *****, if we dropped and smashed the tv, we'd have something to talk about but on a self-move, tv-in-box, customer at the site and cannot report that he saw any of my guys mis-handle the set, damaged discovered at destination, sorry NO

Why two grown men would not heed two different warnings to wrap a 65" tv on their own, in a box that they purchased in advance on their own, when they packed-up the rest of the place on their own, leads me to believe this tv was pre-damaged and they are looking for a pay-day.

I should probably be more diplomatic but this claim is baloney.

      Thank you

      **** ********* BestDarnMovers. ************
