    I went to this eye doctor to get my eyes examined and consider purchasing eyeglasses. I asked them if they covered my health insurance, which at the time was ******. They said they did. I went on to have my eyes examined. When I was about to get the prescription they said that I owed them hundreds of dollars. I specifically remember saying to them, You told me that my insurance was taken here. I was told I would be responsible for the eye exam and the test for glaucoma. I did not understand that the glaucoma test was an additional amount. They never told me it will cost more money. I got tired of arguing with them and left now they continue to call me and want me to pay hundreds of dollars. This experience took place in 2019. Will you please advise?

    Due to HIPAA regulations, we can not publicly comment on your specific health conditions. That said, you have voluntarily indicated in this public forum that you were a patient of the practice who sought and received care from providers here.  The dates that you have referenced are inaccurate.  The services that you have indicated you received are inaccurate as you did not return for recommended testing. Your initial visit was not covered as a result of your failure to obtain the required referrals despite several reminders from the practice before and after your visit. Despite your failure to obtain the required information, the practice as a courtesy to you, extended a discount on usual and customary fees for the services that you sought and were provided. Several statements were sent and voice messages were left for you after your first visit. 

    You returned a year later for an additional visit. Upon arrival for the appointment, we brought to your attention that you still had an outstanding balance on your account and indicated prior to your appointment that you agreed to call the office to settle your balance.  You did not call the office.  More than a dozen statements and phone calls have been made since. We connected briefly with you by phone at the end of September to work through an agreeable solution with you for the services that you received and you proceeded to hang up the phone.

    We take pride in providing the highest level of care and service to all of our patients in a friendly, welcoming environment that leverages the latest advances and technologies for routine and medical eye care.  We expect to receive payment for services rendered.
