We built our new house 4 years ago and were required to purchase our appliances LH Brubaker Appliances. The refrigerator needed repaired; the dishwasher as already been replaced as well as the washing machine. (only the stove and microwave are still functioning) It is like pulling teeth to get LH Brubaker to do anything and would not recommend this appliance store to anyone.

LH Brubaker, on the Strasburg Pike in Lancaster, PA claims to be qualified to service an expensive DCS Fisher Paykal dual-fuel kitchen range which we had purchased from them. The serviceman did not have a long screwdriver to remove a screw so he proceeded to place a socket wrench on top of the piece and forced, forced and forced until he BROKE that part of the burner gas line. We went from a possible faulty ignitor ($100) to negligent damage for which I am expected to pay $2357 to repair. This local business has really gone downhill. No dialogue with a long-time customer, just "This is what it will cost you to do the repair." No apology; no nothing! NO STAR would be the true rating. An extremely poor business ethic. We apologize for the frustration you have felt in the repair of your DCS Fisher-Paykal dual-fuel range. To repair the range, it was necessary to remove a specific nut from the range. The technician could not remove the nut as this particular nut was corroded. The technician attempted to gain access through another nut dislodging the gas tube which is not an uncommon occurrence in this type of repair due to corrosion. Unfortunately, when corrosion prevents the nut from being removed, the only repair would be to drill out all five burners to remove the nuts and lift the cooktop surface to replace all five burners, which is unfortunately an expensive repair.

PRICE GOUGING. I was charged $495 to replace a Subzero Condenser fan motor ($38 part). It took them 15 MINUTES and they left the covers off the fridge for me to put back on. I could buy the part for $38 dollars online. I diagnosed the problem and had them bring the part to expedite repair. I was prepared to replace it myself and had the unit exposed to save them time. There are only two subzero repairs services in our area so I decided to let them repair the unit to establish a repair relationship for more difficult future repairs as the Subzero came with the home new and Martins and Brubakers typically will not repair a unit without the purchase receipt. The lesson is to buy a normally priced appliance that is not inflated so as to avoid price gouging on repairs and initial purchase price. I have not found the subzero to be superior to cheaper appliances. Also, NEVER let Brubakers come to your house without a price estimate in writing to avoid them taking advantage of customers. For Repairs hire Tom B. M******** in Myerstown or E. A Pyle in Palmyra and avoid being preyed upon.

LH Brubaker on Strasburg Pike was also the vendor suggested by Landmark (our Builder). We purchase all appliances with them. The service is the worst. Starting with Melissa L*** who failed to place the dishwasher order on time and cause us delays. We end up buying a substitute dish washer at BestBuy at a higher price.
The BOSH refrigerator is a lemon. Mother board failed within 60 days, the service department have no idea of service. We have been waiting for over 90 day on parts for the refrigerator. The manager Don H**** just have excuses about why the refrigerator cannot be fixed or replace.
      Stay away from LH Brubaker.
