    I hired roto rooter to unclog my main sewer line. The tech that came out tried to unclog it but couldnt, he recommended digging up the pipe and putting in a clean out and trap. He used a tracer to locate the clog, he said that the pipe was 8 ft down just out side of the house. He quoted me $8100 to dig the 8ft ditch and put in new pipe. I didnt see much choice because an 8ft ditch is a lot of work because its deep and wide. The excavator came and often 2 scoops hit the clean out pipe, which the previous owner had buried. The main was only 3 feet deep, not 8. They also broke a pipe that went to a different bathroom, which they did fix. They sent the jet through the trap and got the water flowing. They extended the clean out pipes so they stuck out of the ground. And they gave me the bill and it was $6900. So $1200 less than quoted. But the thing that has me writing this review is that they less than half the labor quoted and less than half the material but I still had to pay 85% of the cost. Also on top of that the next day when I got home there was water coming out of the vent for the clean out. So they came out again to unclog the drain. Which tells me it wasnt right when they left the day before. They did not charge me for that visit. It had been fine since. I called the office to get an explanation of why I paid what I paid. And they basically said the logistics of getting the equipment there was why I paid so much. Which I call BS because they are based only a few miles from where I live. And they didnt bring a huge piece of equipment. They basically brushed it off and had no real explanation. And after all that I went online to write reviews and I found that they have had class action lawsuits against them for inflating the amount of work and severity of the problem to charge more money. I hope this review saves someone some money.
