We hired McNeil Contracting LLC in November 2023. The contract stated the work would be completed in 7-14 days start to finish. There were many delays and lack of response that were documented, photographed, and communicated. In February 2023, the company no showed (not the first time) and stopped responding to us. The work in process had issues and was not complete, some of the project still hadnt been started. 12 weeks later they have now contacted us wanting to restart the work. We have moved on and accepted the loss and no longer want contact with this company. We paid $8,880 to date.

I hired McNeil Contracting, LLC in the summer of 2021 to complete a full rehab project at *** ** **** ****** in Phila, PA. This was a duplex that I wanted to upgrade. We agreed to a BID on September 15, 2021 with the goal of a completion date on March 21, 2022. By March 21, 2022 my property was no where near complete due to multiple delays and stoppages of work throughout the process. McNeil Contracting, LLC was paid thousands of dollars for uncompleted work through my loan officer. The BID we agreed on was approximately around $118,000. McNeil Contracting, LLC was roughly paid between 40-50K in total and he was hired through 203K loan. I felt like I was working with my hands where tied behind my back throughout this process. After being fed up with the constant lies and excuses as to why my project wasn't on track to be complete, I decided to terminate McNeil Contracting, LLC in October 2022 from the project. By October 2022, my project still wasn't halfway done and I had to restart the entire process over again of finding a new contractor to submit a new BID. McNeil Contracting, LLC's negligence cost me $1225 x 12 = $14,700 in lost rent money, as I missed the opportunity to collect rent from a tenant who agreed to move into the property on April 1, 2022. Due to McNeil, Contracting, LLC's breach of contract, I lost funds from a potential tenant and I had to pay a full mortgage of $1800 + for a property that I couldn't even live in. I also had to pay water, electric, and gas during the same time frame, without living in the property. I wouldn't want anyone else to go through what I experienced, that is the sole purpose of me filing this complaint. Throughout the process, leading up to the termination and after terminating McNeil Contracting, LLC, I never received an apology. This company never tried to resolve any issues with me. They just wanted for me to keep accepting their excuses. But once the project was 6 months overdue. It was time for us to part ways.
