We had won several lots in a recent online auction. When my husband went to pick the items up one was missing. The particular lot was on a table another person had won. Mr. S**** (the owner of the company) told the woman that she could have that. Anyone who buys items on auction sites knows each lot has a number on it. The auctioneer said he would reach out to the woman and get the item. My husband spoke to Mr. S**** today 6/12/23 and said the woman will not give the item back. This is no way to run a company.

Mr ****** did come to pick up items that he had won at Auction. I accidently gave items to woman who had won the table items were sitting on. I tried to return money on the item which buyer said was $2 but actually only $1. I contacted the woman who received the items and she would not return. I tried to explain this but the husband just kept saying he wanted his items. After receiving another call from this person and trying to offer settlement to him he treated State Police and I hung up. I have witness who heard this man since I had phone on speaker. Upon reaching my home I wrote a Check to ******** ****** for $5 and consider 5 times what they paid a Fair and Complete Settlement. This over a $1 Purchase. Smith Auction attempts to settle all complaints in just and fair matter. In 43 years of running this Auction Service this is our 2nd Complaint and both over Dollar Items. PS would have shown copy of check sent out but was sent before we received this notice.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I would like the items we had won. My husband bought these items for a reason, and he would like to have them.  How can anyone just give items away to someone. The owner of thew auction said he tried to contact the person but she refused to bring them back.

    Regards,
