We gave Massimo B****** of Penn Decks in Kunkletown, PA a 10K deposit in August 2022, he started work in late October 2022 and the first day on the job billed me for another deposit. This is not normal. Upon completion of our deck in November 2022 (and after paying 100 percent) we noticed some major problems with the deck’s construction -some very concerning for safety (after inspection passed.) Simply put, poor construction-spindles popping out, railing sliding down, balusters on crooked, boards not level. Massimo came back once to fix the lighting and said he’d be back to fix the spindles. However, he has not returned any phone calls, emails, or texts since April 2023. This is unacceptable after spending 30K. And it is very concerning safety-wise b/c a spindle that pops out is at the top of the railing which is tk feet from the ground! After I left a ****** review of 1 star, I noticed he is changing the name of his company. Consumers should be made aware, this guy is a fraud and a crook. We will be paying another contractor to fix these problems as a result of his poor workmanship. The cost of these repairs will total 4K. He now owes us money.

Hired ******* to build new deck construction 16' x 20' second floor deck with rain escapes under deck to have a sealed dry are under the deck. Deck construction was started on April 26, 2023 with estimated completion date of May 15, 2023.Deck construction was rushed and finished early. ******* told me he had to finish because he had other customers waiting. I held back some money because the rain escapes were leaking. He was very slow to respond and even slower to come back to try and seal the leaks. Him or his helper came back 3 or 4 times to try and stop the leaks. Each time they made the deck look worse by adding excess tape, duct tape, and sealant everywhere. He told me he finished fixing all the leaks and I paid him the balance of the project.First time it rained, I had about a dozen leaks in the rain escapes. I also had floorboard connectors washing down the rain escapes and out my gutter. I inspected the deck closely to find the floorboards shifted from all the excess tape used to stop the leaks, and connectors were breaking off. In multiple locations I have no gap on one side of the floorboards and twice the gap on the opposite side of the same floorboard. ******* did not answer any of my calls or text messages, so I sent an email asking for a refund to pay another contractor for repair work. He asked me to give him another chance to fix the floorboards and leaks. I agreed and we setup a date and time along with the inspector for final inspection. ******* did not show up and now will not answer emails either. Deck passed final inspection, but the inspector pointed out how crooked one section of the railing was telling me that could become a weak spot over time. He also said it was extremely poor craftsmanship. I contacted another deck builder to get a repair quote and he asked me to contact **** @ (800) buy-**** .I recently filed a complaint with **** and sent them over a dozen pictures. There is no way this builder should be a ******* platinum builder.

Date of transaction: September 9, 2021 Amount paid to Penn Builders: $16,000 What Penn Builders committed to provide us: A maintenance free long lasting **** deck with a 20 year warranty because we used **** premium product Nature of Dispute: Bottom step is split on two corners where was a nail installed to attached decking. This defect did not show until winter time when cold weather caused it to appear. There is no way the product will now last with the split for 20 years and hold up to the weather. Has business tried to resolve issue: We reached out to Penn Builders several times and was assured by Massimo B***** multiple times that he would be out to fix the step and has never showed up and is now not returning correspondence. We also reached out to ****, receive a claim #*******. They said Penn Builders was one of their premium partners and they would reach out on our behalf to resolve the issue. They asked for 16 days to get in touch with Penn Builders and insured me that after 16 days, if no response they would move forward in a different way to resolve issue. We called back after 16 days and spoke with Caitlin Williams same person as original conversation and was told there was nothing **** could do as Penn Builders is an independent contractor. She did not let me know if they spoke to Penn Builders or not. We have text messages and pictures with communications with Penn Builders and **** about this issue. We are asking to have the step board replaced and neither company is stepping up to resolve the issue for us. If neither company wants to fix the board, we want a reimbursement so we can have a reputable company fix the step. Has the business tried to resolve issue: No Penn Builders owner, Massimo B***** said he would be out to fix several times, and has never showed up and is now not returning our calls or text messages Penn Builders invoice # ******. Warranty # ******** . **** claim # *******

We hire Penn Deck to replace and install a Deck and stair case on 3/17/22 he quoted $5800 in labor if we supplied the material which we did. He provided a list of materials which came to $7000-$8000. He assure us that the deck would be built to code and that permits were not needed due to it being an existing deck. He came with his crew on 3/21/22 and completed the Deck in 3 days, he assured us everything was to code and that in the even that any issue occurred with the township he would return and correct the matter. We were contacted by the township on July 25th 2022 stating that a permit needed to be filed and it was not and that I needed to apply and submit plans for the permit which I did on August 1st 2022. I reached out to the owner Massimo who reply back via text he will provide plans which he never he never gave an updated plan. So we filled with the plans he provided in the beginning. To our surprise the plans were wrong and not to code. The building inspector came to inspect and found multiple violation and informed me that the builder Penn Deck did not follow code. I then contacted the owner Massimo over a dozen times via text, phone, emails and voice-mail with no response back. All we asked Hine was to correct the deck that he installed to code. He has failed to reply back in over 3 to 4 weeks. I have reports from the building inspector indicating all the issues with the Deck. I have emailed and text Penn deck with no response.
