    I hired ***** Gentile from Junior Gentile Construction L.L.C. and he was to start a construction project on Monday, Nov. 27th. I got a call Tuesday Nov. 14th he wanted to start the job earlier on Wednesday Nov. 15th and stated he would be here at 8am. On Wednesday Nov.15th at 6am I got a text from him stating he forgot about a doctors appointment and he would start sometime after 9:30am. At 10am I get another text and he now has a family emergency. I told him I wanted to end the contract and I want my deposit back, too many red flags and its best we part ways. He said he needs a couple of days to get the deposit back to me. Then he started texting me about materials he bought but couldnt find the receipts to return them and I told him that a professional contractor would not loose receipts, a couple of days puts us at Friday, Nov,17th. On Friday Nov. 17th I texted ***** to ask if he had my deposit and he said no he had a death in the family and would need time to return materials and said either way it would be next week. Thursday Nov. 23rd he texts me that he would return my deposit on Tuesday Nov. 28th, when I texted him to confirm he was coming he said he was waiting on a check to clear and he would instead have it Friday Dec.1st. Today I texted to see if he was on his way and now he is unresponsive. I need my $1500 deposit back, as he did not perform any work on our home and could not even show up to start the job. Since this time there have been several bad review on Nextdoor where he promotes his business and I never wish to hire him for any job. He also replied to a Nexdoor message telling me he was licensed and insured but has not supplied any documentation to prove that he is, and I cannot find his business on the attorney generals website as a licensed contractor. Please help.

    After filing this complaint on 12/1/2023 I also posted my complaint on the ******** Website where he promotes his business and he has since returned my deposit in full. I consider this issue resolved, please let me know if I need to do anything further. Thank you for your prompt attention in this matter.
