Bought a vehicle used with a 3 month warranty. One owner and only 69000 miles on it. Month 4 alternator went. Brought it back to dealer, who charged me over 650.00 for a NEW alternator. Since than, in only a year and a half, I've had to replace electronic throttle, serpentine belt, 2 batteries. So far in for 1800.00. 2 certified mechanics told me that the alternator they put in was NOT new, but refurbished. Not what I was charged for. Turns out, alternator is destroying batteries and inefficient. I also now have to pay another 85.00 for tow.

Weathers Motors, Inc. - Serving the community for 101 years!

      To whom it may concern,

      Please see my response below:

      2014 ***** ******* – ***********************

Customer took delivery of vehicle DELIVERY: 12/31/2021

Alternator went bad 4/13/22: we installed remanufactured *********** alternator customer paid $601.02 (12-month warranty as stated on invoice)

Week of 8/28/2023 customer left message & spoke to **** (office manager) saying we committed fraud by installing a reman instead of new alternator & alternator does not meet Original Equipment standards and he was going to contact lawyer if he didn't receive call back by 9:30 am.

Same day: *********************** called prior to 9:30 am no answer, left message, no call back.

It is common practice to install reman alternators due to prohibitive costs of new dealer list on new alternator $714.00 *********** alternator meets/exceeds manufacture spec
9/14/2023: customer showed up at service counter.  Customer explained situation and I (***********************) said we would be happy to take a look at the situation but needed to see the vehicle

Vehicle towed in end of day 9/14/2023

Morning of 9/15/2023: verified alternator not charging
Explained to customer that vehicle part is out of 12-month warranty but as goodwill we would be willing to install a more expensive Original Equipment (from the dealer)remanufactured alternator with no parts cost to him and instead of paying the $240.00 labor charge, we would only charge $100.00.  Customer agreed that was fair and Original Equipment reman alternator was installed, customer paid $106.00 (12-month part only warranty to installed alternator)

*** Customer was happy with resolution.

Hello, what is the status on this complaint, I have been in contact with the the business they claim they are looking for a part for my vehicle but it has been weeks, and they still have my car.

They have offered me to pay for the labor and them the part but they have not ordered the part yet, and I dont know what going on, this issue is not resolved yet

it during the warranty period, this is an expensive problem that has been present in the vehicle since purchase, and I want the dealer to fix it correctly with the correct replacements not after market as that is a cheap option to resolve this issue. We have been in contact with them and we dropped the car off for 2 weeks now and they keep just saying that we should have brought it to them which we did and contacted them several times but it seems like we spoke to different people who all told me different things. I just want my new car fixed because it highly unethical for a company to sell me a car with a known problem and not fix it during the warranty period when it was brought to their attention. I want the car fixed with replacements that are manufactured made and not aftermarket parts. This should have been done when I originally brought it in during the warranty period but it was not and now they are taking weeks to answer me and keep saying their doing their research. Receipts is in Car
