October 20,2022 Rick's installed a new humidifier on my heater. I paid $525.00 with a credit card. I was told that When the temperature went below 35 degrees, the humidifier would turn on. It did not turn on. I contacted Rick's. On November 29, 2022. Rick returned to assess the humidifier. He said it need a new part. He would get the part and return to fix it. That is the last time I heard from him. The office does not return my calls: 2022:11/30;12/9;12/12;12/15;12/19; 2023: 1/3/;1/10;1/17;1/27/ **************************************** *****************************************

On 11/05/2021 I paid for a new gas boiler which was supposed to come with a new auto-feeder, new pipe connections, new circulator pump, etc. About 2 weeks or so after it was installed, I had to call **** back out because my radiators were not getting warm. Someone came back out and I had no more problems last year. This year I go to turn on my heater and there is no water in my system. I called **** on 11/10 and automatically got a voicemail. I leave a message and receive a call back within an hour. I didnt catch the name of who I spoke to, but it wasnt ****, and he gave me an appointment for the next day. We agreed for a tentative 12pm, but he wasnt sure yet exactly what time they would come out. He verified my email address and said I would receive an appointment confirmation shortly. I did receive an email but the time said 12am midnight for 11/11 instead of 12pm noon. No one showed up or called me. I then asked my contractor to look at the heater and he said that I did not have an auto-feeder. I called again on 11/12, 11/18, 11/19, and 11/22. I clicked on the link in the appointment confirmation and it took me to another website with his company name where you can schedule appointments, pay bills, and send messages but the web address is not connected to his name in any way. I tried to schedule appointments there which were always denied, but no one would respond to my messages on the website. On 11/19 I went to ****s “location” at **************************** and the store was vacant with “For Lease” signs over it. I saw a man moving boxes into the storefront and I asked him if he knew ****. He smirked and said, Yea he's out of business. I was confused. I had just talked to someone the week before and got an appointment. I asked him if he knew how long he'd been out of business and he told me 4 or 5 months. Then with the same smirk he asked if I had a contract with ****. When I replied yes the man LAUGHED AT ME and said, well you better call him!

I contracted with Ricks Plumbing, Heating and Cooling in the first week of January 2022 after receiving an estimate for installation of a new boiler in December 2021. Rick required a 50% deposit ($4,300) and indicated at the time of contracting that the boiler would be installed in January/February in time for use during the winter. He later canceled installation dates on 4 separate occasions for a variety of reasons ranging from “no longer the winter so we have time”, “forgot to schedule the boiler to be delivered”, and “too busy and need to finish a big job”. Finally, the Owner informed me in October 2022 (incredibly 10 month after receipt of the deposit) that he was no longer interested in performing the work due to staff issues and an alleged back injury. Although the business verbally stated that they would refund the deposit, it has been 2 weeks without receipt of the same. Now we are heading into the winter with 2 kids and without a reliable boiler. Even worse, prices are up over 30% from bids received in 2021 and supply chain issues are a problem for installation before the upcoming winter. I’m very disappointed in the communication and suspect I have an issue getting my hefty deposit back. They haven’t been truthful to date so I have no reason to believe “a check is in the mail”. I have offered to pick up my refund check personally but that offer hasn’t been accepted based on the involvement of an alleged third party bookkeeper.
