I just had a frustrating and disappointing experience with a plumbing company, MTCH Service Experts Corp DBA Montco-Rooter, LLC

I was facing issues with my Moen kitchen faucet, and after contacting the company, they sent me a new faucet to be replaced. Initially, when I called Montco-Rooter on Jul 29, 2023, I explained the entire situation and asked for a rough price estimate based on the job description. But the technician insisted on a $79 house call charge before providing any estimate. I reluctantly agreed, hoping for a fair price.

When the plumber arrived and examined the faucet, I was taken aback by the quote he gave me $679 labor to install the new faucet! I was shocked because there was no mention of such a steep price during our phone conversation. I felt deceived and misled.

When I confronted the technician about why he didn't disclose the actual cost earlier, he claimed they couldn't determine the price until they arrived on-site. To me, this seemed like an unfair and manipulative tactic to get that $79 service call fee out of customers regardless of whether they proceed with the service or not.

Paying $79 for just an inspection and not having the work done was already frustrating, but being confronted with an excessive and unexpected quote was just unacceptable. It's clear that this company is preying on unsuspecting customers, hoping to take advantage of their desperation to get the job done.

I find this approach highly unethical and nothing short of cheating their customers. They knew very well that a replacement faucet installation shouldn't cost anywhere near $600+, yet they failed to be transparent about it.

So, I urge you all to be cautious if you're considering Montco-Rooter for your plumbing needs. They might entice you with a seemingly low service call fee but will then hit you with an exorbitant quote when they arrive. It's a shame that they resort to such tactics. BBA should take necessary actions against this.
