    On May 24th, 2024, I visited Seraly Dermatology for a Skin Cancer SCREENING. My employer offers various cash rewards for wellness/preventative care screenings. For example, last year, I had a colonoscopy screening and received a $100 reward. My insurance provider, Cigna, paid 100% of this claim since it was billed as preventative care. However, after I had this skin cancer screening, ***** did not pay 100% of the claim. The claim said my patient responsibility was $90. I contacted ***** immediately and they said Seraly Dermatology did not bill this as wellness/preventative care, they billed it as new patient/diagnostic and informed me to call the practice and have them resubmit the claim under wellness/preventative billing codes. I called Seraly Dermatology and they are refusing to bill this as wellness/preventative. Furthermore, I am NOT receiving the $100 reward from my employer because the claim is coded new patient/diagnostic. So, I am out $90 for something I would have never done if there was no reward. I want this practice, Seraly Dermatology, to resubmit this claim and code this as wellness/preventative care as that is exactly what the purpose of my visit was.
