      We purchased a new home in August of 2022. Prior to purchase, a water issue was discovered in the basement of unknown origin. As part of the purchase process, at the suggestion of our realtor, we had a waterproofing inspection done by Premier Waterproofing. The representative suggested that we needed an internal french drain installed to mitigate hydrostatic pressure in the basement walls. We were told that we needed to submit a deposit of around $2,500 in order to get on the schedule, which we did on Aug. 10, 2022. We didn't receive any response or update from Premier for several weeks. We were finally able to contact them in late Sept. and were put on the schedule for mid-Oct, after significant persistence. In the interim, we had other contractors and plumbers out to our house for various other needs. In that time, the opinion was that the french drain solution that Premier had suggested was completely unnecessary. We determined that there was no water entering the home through the basement walls and that the prior water issue was due to an improperly installed A/C condensate line. We canceled our service with Premier about a week prior to the scheduled date. We were informed that they had a 72-hour after deposit cancelation policy. This was never communicated to us prior to canceling, nor is it stated on any document we received from the company. The only document that we have is a quote that clearly states that we can cancel at any time and are entitled to a refund of money paid. We have contacted the company repeatedly and were told that they refuse to refund our money because we are being "unreasonable." We were told that they had paid for materials (which they admitted to using in other jobs) and were unable to schedule new work for their employees for two days. None of which has any bearing on our rights to a refund.
